Who is this program for?
Psychology students, medical and dental students, and students across allied health science streams who want a structured, clinically-grounded introduction to psychology and mental healthcare. No prior clinical exposure is assumed.
Who teaches the program?
Sessions are led by Dr. Himanshu Singh, an RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologist and researcher associated with AIIMS, New Delhi, with over a decade of experience in clinical practice, psychological assessment and mental healthcare. Dr. Singh holds an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology, is UGC-NET qualified, and is a gold medalist.
How long is the program, and how is it delivered?
Four weeks, in a hybrid format — live sessions plus recorded modules you can rewatch whenever you need to.
What does each week cover?
- Week 1 — Foundations of Psychology & Human Behaviour: introduction to psychology, research methods and ethics, the biological basis of behaviour, and learning and memory.
- Week 2 — Development, Personality & Social Behaviour: human development, personality psychology, intelligence and emotional intelligence, and social psychology.
- Week 3 — Clinical Psychology & Mental Health: positive psychology, mental health, abnormal psychology, and counselling skills.
- Week 4 — Clinical Skills, Research & Career Readiness: psychological assessments, research skills, career development, and the capstone project.
Does this program make me a licensed clinical psychologist?
No, and we want to be straightforward about that. In India, practising as a clinical psychologist requires an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from an RCI-recognised institution and registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India. This is a certification program that builds foundational knowledge, clinical vocabulary and practical exposure — it is designed to strengthen your base and help you make informed decisions about that longer pathway, not to replace it. Will I learn actual counselling skills?
Module 12 is devoted to counselling skills — rapport building, active listening, empathy, communication, ethical practice, confidentiality and referral guidelines. Module 13 then covers psychological assessment: clinical interview basics, case history taking, the mental status examination, personality assessments, screening for anxiety and depression, and behaviour observation.
Is there a final project?
Yes. Module 16 is a capstone where you choose one of six options: a clinical case formulation, a mental health awareness campaign, a research proposal, a literature review, a community mental health project, or a psychological assessment report using sample cases.
